Glass Beads
In the summer of 2005 we started exploring glass beads. We love the medium; they are so relaxing to make. You start off with a prepared mandrel and a good torch supplied with mapp gas. You melt glass rods and rotate them around the mandrel to form the basic bead. Then you can embellish the bead with dots, lines, frit (crushed glass), metal foil, embossing powders etc. There are many great videos and books that are wonderful for any level bead maker. One of the wonderful things about making glass beads is that you can create a masterpiece in less than an hour. We will add new beads that we have been working on soon. |
